Yeah, these shoes are super cool. ‘Course, you may appreciate them more if you’re a cat lover, but even if you’re just tolerant of cats, they’re really quite practical for spring and summer.

Starting with the colors, since the cats on the print are in neutral shades, you can wear these shoes with a slew of different outfits. So far, I’ve worn them with dark skinny jeans and a white T-shirt, bright yellow shorts and a loose-fitting heather gray tank top, and even a fitted basic black James Perse jersey dress.

They pretty much go with any of the basics in my closet.

And the shoes themselves are also fairly comfortable. typical Vans. I did have to break them in a little. The canvas was a little stiff at first but loosened up a bit after a couple of walks.

If you plan to wear them without socks, it might help to have a couple Band-Aids around the first few times you wear them. I do that sometimes when I’m breaking in new shoes. I put Band-Aids on the back of my ankles where the stiff canvas touches my skin. That helps a lot.

I ordered a women’s size 7, which runs a little large. I usually wear a 7, and with these, I have about a half an inch of extra wiggle room in the toe area.

I don’t mind because I don’t like my toes to feel cramped, and with them fitting slightly large, I can also wear them with really thick running socks for extra comfort (have you ever tried Thorlo’s? One word: awesome!).

Being flats, I can wear these comfortably all day, but I’m actually thinking about adding extra arch inserts, since the arches in these shoes are nonexistent.

If you aren’t a cat lady — gasp! — there are also ASPCA themed Vans for dog lovers, too, including slip-ons and high-tops ($55 and $65 respectively) with a dog print collage in similarly neutral colors.

I wondered if any proceeds from the sale of the shoes gets passed on to the ASPCA, so I sent Vans a tweet earlier today to ask.

It would be nice to know if buying the shoes helped a kitty or two.

They actually replied! Vans said that they gave a lump sum donation to the ASPCA.

Rece. and on top of everything else, the shoes raise awareness for the ASPCA and the many terrific things they do.

Bottom line, I love the shoes! and Tabs likes ’em too.

These remind me of NARS Satin Lip Pencils, only slightly sheerer and with a waxier feel.

As for wear time, well, in food-based terms (because I’m hungry ideal now, and that’s how my mind works), after chugging two huge bottles of water in two hours, I can still see Tipsy (the coral) on my lips, but when I was wearing Blissful the other day and the sudden urge to eat a TJ’s granola bar struck (it happens), I had to reapply ideal after.

Sooo, I’d expect to have to reapply 2-4 times per day, depending on the intensity of your snack schedule.

The smaller pencils will absolutely lighten my load, which is always a good thing when you’re a lip product nomad who travels with a minimum of six glosses and lipsticks, but I’m scratching my head over the $24 price.

These new 0.04-ounce pencils are the same price as their older 0.10-ounce pencil cousins.

Hmm …

After showering this morning I worked Kerastase Mousse Bouffante into my damp, wavy hair, starting at the ends and making my way down to the roots.

Compared to other Kerastase hair styling products I’ve tried, this one smells pretty tame, which I like. There’s just a faint jasmine scent.

Designed to embiggen hair (I know that’s not a real word… I just really wanted to use it. ) and supply structure without weight, so it gives me the volume I crave. I’m using it get myself time before my next haircut in about three weeks (my mop has been pretty heavy and kind of flat).

I apply it to my hair when it’s damp, and you can either blow dry or air dry. considering that it’s been — to quote Nelly — hot in hurr, I’ve been air drying lately. I normally sit in my oven… I indicated “office” upstairs, and wait.

In a couple of hours, my waves look defined, with a lot a lot more volume. It’s a little a lot more structured look, and not as beachy or heavy as I get when I use my holy grail waves product, Kerastase Spray a Porter, but I like the results.

It’s as if Spray a porter put on her service suit and stepped into the corner office, LOL!

I haven’t tried blowing out my hair with Mousse Bouffante yet, but I’m pretty confident that I could get some killer volume overall because it’s so lightweight.

Kinda pricey at $36 a bottle…but if you’re a Kerastase fan, you might want to give it a whirl.
